UK a nation of “picnickers” – campaign to find Britain’s best picnic spots

A recent survey has revealed that picnics are one of the UK’s favorite summer activities and so, ahead of the British summer holidays, the hunt is officially on to find the best picnic spot in the UK.

Seven out of ten Brits believe picnics are a staple of the British summer and 44% believe a picnic is essential to a summer day out.

The survey revealed that 53% of us would choose the traditional picnic blanket as their preferred seating arrangement, while 65% of us think that sandwiches are the most traditional picnic food, followed by pork pies (21%) and sausage rolls (18%).

Nominations close on Monday 24th July with the announcement of the UK’s number one picnic location to be revealed on Wednesday 26th July.
