London is becoming a mecca for Italian restaurants and top of the list is the Spaghetti House chain and we recently reviewed the Kensington branch. Located on the prestigious Kensington High Street, this restaurant is the perfect antidote to anyone  out shopping, via the plethora of exciting shops that line up the High Street.

Spaghetti House Kensington opened in March 2012 and since then it has garnered the reputation for a friendly atmosphere, great staff s and most importantly GREAT food!  The décor features a combination of  modern and traditional blending to give you the perfect sense of home away from home. The wide ranging menus will appeal to a variety of tastebuds, offering all your Italian favourites – pizza, pasta, antipasti nibbles, risottos and great meat and fish dishes. The kids  menu features plenty to appeal to younger diners too so you can certainly bring the family along.  The menu includes sharing dishes, dipping dishes, Italian favourites, quality fresh Loch Duart Salmon, juicy steaks, pasta & delectable pizza.  I opted for the Spaghetti Bolognese and my general verdict was simply #Fantastico  as they say in Italy!  Don’t take my word for it, visit Spaghetti House through out January and to celebrate the new year they are offering a chance for you to  enjoy a flute on Prosecco Ca del Console on arrival. Best way to kick of what will be a great 2015!!

This 14-18 February, will shine the spotlight on London’s creative industries as London Fashion Week, the BAFTA Film Awards and the Brit Awards all set to showcase the very best of each industry’s outstanding talents in the space of just six days. The Mayor of London Boris Johnson said, “London Fashion Week is a fabulous showcase of what makes London one of the most exciting and dynamic cities on earth – its creativity. With the BAFTAs and the Brits taking place at the same time, let’s celebrate the great British talent that is acclaimed around the world.”

Antonio studied at the prestigious Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London while at the same time working as John Galliano’s assistant. The collection he created in his final year as a student, 1994, created a professional-sized splash, attracting the attention of London buyers, including Liberty and A La Mode. London Fashion Week, 14-18 February is set to showcase some of the world’s leading fashion talent. Set over five days, the schedule is packed with shows, presentations, installations, showrooms, events and parties from the best and brightest names in the industry. As well as the trade events, there are more ways for the public to enjoy the London Fashion Week experience with live streaming, social media and a line-up of events and exhibitions around town.

Antoni Burakowski and Alison Roberts, have mentioned their ideal client: “An individual who can’t believe their luck in finding a fantastic, inspirational piece of Antoni & Alison clothing to either own or just to look at.”

Twenty-five years is a long time in fashion. Back in 1987, we jacked our bodies and lived on a prayer. It was also 25 years ago that Antoni Burakowski and Alison Roberts graduated from Central Saint Martins and founded their own label. Their first offering was a collection of “Be Happy” T-shirts, the cutesy slogans on which swiftly catapulted them to the forefront of youth culture and street cool.

“This time has been like an incredible apprenticeship,” they state. “We have loved being ‘Antoni & Alison’; we have loved being an independent label. We design from scratch each season, experimenting with the need to find and have ‘good ideas’, and sometimes using our ‘bad’ ideas.”

Worldhotels, a leading group of independent upscale hotels, is taking its partnership with the Ameron Collection, a four-star plus hotel brand under the umbrella of the Althoff Hotels, to the next level: Four additional Ameron Hotels and Resorts in Germany and Switzerland have been added to the Worldhotels portfolio. The successful partnership started in 2010, when Ameron Hotel Regent in Cologne, Germany, joined Worldhotels.

Talking about the reasoning behind their decision, Edgar Lichter, Vice President Ameron Hotels, points out the extremely positive experience the group has made with Worldhotels in the past: “Since joining Worldhotels, the Ameron Hotel Regent has experienced substantial growth and has gained a clear and strong position in Germany and Europe. In terms of offering international marketing and distribution support under a global brand, Worldhotels represents the ideal partner.”

Ameron is a young and dynamic hotel brand inspired by the renowned Althoff Hotel Collection, which focuses on hospitality and lifestyle.  With hotels in metropolises such as Berlin, Frankfurt and Cologne, the Althoff Group has concentrated its Ameron hotels in destinations with a high travel volume in both the business traveller and leisure segment.

“We are delighted to welcome four additional hotels of the Ameron Collection”, adds Paulo Salvador, Executive Vice President Europe, Middle East and Africa. “With their fresh and innovative concept which caters to the needs of modern travellers, they perfectly complement our global portfolio of almost 500 hotels in 250 destinations. We are looking forward to a strong business relationship and are confident that our global sales network and marketing initiatives will increase the hotels’ international exposure to ultimately maximise our mutual results.”

The new additions are:

Opening its doors in summer 2014, the hotel will be the first and only hotel in Speicherstadt, Hamburg – the city’s historical warehouse district. It will feature 192 rooms, all boasting cosmopolitan chic with their 50s and 60s style interior, as well as the latest in in-room technology.

Ameron Hotel Königshof, Bonn, Germany

Welcoming guests as of winter 2015/2016, the 148-room resort will be located in the centre of Davos, opposite the Congress Centre Davos – the well-known venue of the annual World Economic Forum (WEF).
