For this issue Chelsea Monthly magazine caught up with Andrew Barton exclusively to talk about his passion for his profession and what makes London a great place to be.

Shairah Habib: So Andrew, you decided to open your salon in Covent Garden, why this location in particular?

Andrew Barton: Covent Garden has a great cocktail mix of people. And I love the shops here, the visual, everything!

Shairah Habib: Your salon is very uniquely designed, tell us about your influence?

Andrew Barton: It’s actually a reflection of what my home looks like, the 60’s colour and the animated cushions. I like my customers to feel at home when they come to visit the salon.

Shairah Habib: Well, we definitely feel comfortable!  What does the Andrew Barton salon specialize in?

Andrew Barton: Apart from that luscious big hair we actually have a great colour correction service.  Women come in with the most dreadfully coloured hair and we literally talk to them about what their original vision was. However one thing about my team and myself is, although we listen, if we know a hair colour or a haircut will not work we definitely make it clear to our clients. We want them looking their absolute best.

Shairah Habib: And who are you dying to give a hair make-over to?

AB: I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, Princess Anne. Just that dull hair….it needs some life, uplifting maybe a few layers…..something!

SH: Who are your top three British beauties?

AB: Elizabeth Hurley, Kate Middleton and Kate Winslet. They’re all just GORGEOUS!

SH: What is your favourite restaurant in London?

AB: I have to say The Ivy on West Street. The food is amazing absolutely amazing.

SH: Lastly, do you have any plans of opening your salon anywhere else?

AB: Most definitely. There are several projects and new opening lined up. Stay tuned!
