Saville Row goes all Sheepish on us!! #OnlyinLondon
Savile Row became home to a flock of Bowmont Merino and Exmoor Longhorn sheep today to celebrate the opening of Wool Week by The Campaign for Wool. Attended by the likes of Bill Nighy and David Gandy, regulars on Savile Row, the public enjoyed seeing the sheep whose wool is used to produce the best of British cloth and the models wearing suits from each tailoring house.
Huntsman celebrated by giving interested visitors tours of the workshops and explaining the work that goes into producing a signature Huntsman suit, as well as offering a “Bespoke Masterclass” taken by Co-Head Cutter Dario Carnera.
In Huntsman’s window stood three stunning Lalanne sheep and a piece by Joy Pitts, who was commissioned by The Campaign for Wool to produce a piece out of Huntsman’s labels from years gone by. This window signified that a Huntsman suit is more than just a suit, but a work of art.
There was also a champagne and canapé reception for Huntsman customers and press to showcase the new shop layout and ready-to-wear collection, which also gave a chance for visitors to speak to the Huntsman team and discuss favourite cuts and materials whilst raising a glass to the sheep who’s wool makes their suits so spectacular!
