Just when I had retired my dancing shoes..

Last year, I received news that after over two years in Mayfair, the highly successful members’ club No.41 might be gone for good. I checked the calendar in the office to ensure that it wasn’t an April fools prank and as we entered 2016 I was literally getting ready to pack my dancing shoes neatly back into the top drawer when suddenly Suzanne Dickinson from No.41 finally broke the news that our favourite spot in London was in fact moving right close to us!  Yes, No.41 has moved to a new site in Kensington. So, not only do they move literally into my surname ‘Kensington’  but they are right bang in the centre of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Perfect!  So it’s fair to say that our previously distant Mayfair cousins are now close family members of Chelsea Monthly. The launch was scheduled  for the 2nd of April but I popped in a day earlier to see what was in store at the new location. I arrived to an after party by Miss USSR, and was  met by Floor Manager, Sebastian Banovic. Good to see that the old team is still alive and kicking. The new location has maintained  the high level of service, ambience and chic décor which we have grown to become accustomed to.

Based in The Kensington Close Hotel, a stone’s throw from High Street Kensington tube station, No.41 is back, bigger and better with its cutting-edge music policy and beautiful dancers who interrupt proceedings every now and then with a classier version of Coyote Ugly’s dance routine. Sexy, definitely…… Effortless, off course……. Elegance, you bet…..!!

The new No.41 exudes opulence and glamour with a 21st century twist. It is richly furnished with plush carpets, stately works of art and modern crystal chandeliers. Guests can book tables for bottle service or sample the extensive cocktail list at the bar whilst drinking in the vibrant atmosphere. There is also a rare twist to it’s entertainment courtesy of  Oktam Violini the resident violinist who was matching the DJ with his terrific violin skills all night. That is one of many experiences which you must witness to appreciate.

No.41 is open each and every Friday and Saturday nights until 3am, and will be available for private bookings.

If you are in the Borough and haven’t been yet? Check it out. It’s certainly going to be the place to be, this summer. As for my dancing shoes, well .. I can’t quite remember what happened the rest of the evening which is usually a sign of a good night!!
