Restaurant Review: Banca

688views

Translating to ‘bank’ – a whimsical nod to the building’s former business occupation – Italian restaurant, Banca, has arrived onto the Mayfair dining scene. The interior on entrance is resplendent in monochrome décor, with an impressively long bar, perfect for the aperitivo tradition offered weekdays from 5-7:30pm. Based on traditional Milan cuisine, Banca boasts a number of appetizing dishes, in particular the ‘seared octopus’ and ‘risotto with sautéed porcini mushrooms’, all sourced from Italian suppliers and prepared from scratch in the Mayfair restaurant’s kitchen.  The aperitivo drinks selection includes the classic bellini among other champagne cocktails, while the wine and champagne selection is profoundly vast, guaranteeing a suitable tipple for every customer. The service is suitably attentive and friendly, very typical of traditional Italian culture. There is no doubt that Banca aims to accommodate to the high-achiever and socialite culture that is prominent within central London.
