Nosh Garden Kitchen is tucked away in the leafy corner of Bayswater, located perfectly at La Suite West. This oasis is the ideal spot to unwind and enjoy a range of delicious, nutrient dense food, where a very special vegan menu is served.

Nosh are already well established in the health industry. They have pioneered home weight loss and detox programmes in the UK with raw juices, while collecting many awards along the way. They provide nutrient dense, intelligent food while not compromising on flavour.

La Suite West has perfect chilled summer vibe and it felt like being on holiday.

Nosh Garden Kitchen Menu

I had the pleasure of trying their new vegan menu available at the Nosh Garden Kitchen. All of the foods we had were additive, dairy, gluten, egg and preservative free and naturally high in nutrients being primarily raw. Funnily enough nosh means to eat food enthusiastically – here’s some of the treats we noshed:

Starters: courgette rolls with pesto and tapenede, beetroot carpaccio with activated cashew cheese and capers

Mains: Vegan Caesar Salad with Tofu

Dessert: Chocolate brownie with banana and vanilla iScream

Drinks: virgin apple martinis, strawberry mojitos, fresh mint tea

Nosh now offers a number of niche diet programmes including low carb, low sugar, paleo, vegan, pegan (paleo + vegan), alkalising and cleansing.

Post-dining, guests can happily relax in the peaceful terrace with Italian coffee or a pot of loose hibiscus, mint or green tea.

La Suite West – Hyde Park will also continue to serve their award-winning raw vegan alternative to the quintessentially British tradition of afternoon tea.

With excellent customer service offered by La Suite West staff, we felt very well attended to.

Now, that we finally have a bit of sunshine in the UK, it is important to curate our diet accordingly…
First tip – fresh fruits and vegetables. Why? Well, not only do fruits have amazing healthy components but the vitamins are much more activated for better results during the summer.

Find our little list of the primordial summer healthy food options:

WATERMELON

With its vitamins, the watermelon is one of the best healthy fruit. In fact, citrus fruits have been known to participate to the cancer prevention according to many medical journals. The watermelon has also the capacity to reduce the cholesterol level.

SHRIMP

If you love your summer barbecues, then you can never go wrong with some shrimps. The perfect healthy food, also great for anyone who is weight conscious. In fact, the shrimp is rich in protein and poor in fat. It has an excellent nutritional value.

CORN

Corn is not just a tasty summer addition to any menu but is also very rich in vitamins and minerals, and has the property to reduce the risk of cancer or heart disease, like the most of our recommended food on this list.

CELERY

One of the low-calorie food, the celery is full of essential nutrients. It can also help you to loose some weight, facilitate your digestion, protect you from many diseases, strengthen the brain… There are so many advantages associated with Celery…You’ve just got to love it!

MUSHROOMS

Many compounds have been identified in mushrooms that show potential for boosting immunity. The mushroom is the only vegetable which produces Vitamin D thanks to the sun. This is why it is not just perfect but an important addition to your summer healthy diet.

APRICOT

The apricot is recognized for its benefits on the skin. I recommend it for those into sports and pregnant women. 100 grams of fresh apricots gives you 12% of vitamin C, 12% of vitamin A, and 6% of potassium required for the body.

If you are stuck for choices for this summer for your holidays, you can choose to stay in your house, and lock yourself indoors or be more creative with a packed itinerary discovering some undiscovered spots in France. One place I could recommend is the beautiful Jura Mountains.

In the east of France, Jura Mountains have splendid landscapes. Away from the city, you will discover things in this place that you have never seen before. If you are not a big fan of water, be careful because in the Jura, this is the mountain heart. It has been here for thousands of years and this is what created the richness of this amazing place. Whether it is big caves, water has played a significant role in the Jura Mountains history.

The Hérisson, one of the vein of the Jura, is full of cascades and drops for about 3.5 Kilometres. Since 2002, it has been classed as a “protection of the landscapes” location. Jura Mountains is certainly full of little treasures that need to be protected. Everywhere you go, you will be held by the beauty of nature.
At the source of the River Lison, the waterfalls are blue all year round. You can also get lost in nature by disappearing in the Jura forest.
I personally recommend the Planches-en-Montagne. The cascades and the Gorges of La Langouette will take you to another world.
The depth of the water is so powerful which shows you to the strength of the surface landscape. If you want to increase your altitude and feel a little confident you can hike higher with the falls at Billaude or La Lemme. The water plunges into a narrow gorge across two successive drops from a height of 28m, huge no?

Wonderful water activities

Combining relaxation and fun is the best way to live your life and in the Jura Mountains, you have the possibility to do a lot of different activities that combine both. From canoeing, swimming to fishing, you can enjoy every facet of the water.

Jura Mountains has been adapted to suit the needs of even the most demanding of people, especially families. Everyone will be happy to swim into the natural pools forged into rocks or jump into the fresh water. If you are feeling more adventurous, you can choose to discover the River Loue with canoe or kayak. Enjoy the Jura nature in each detail and take your picnic with you.

Take a final breath by sitting down and listening to the nature song. The water is flowing, leaves of trees are intertwining, this is like music to your ear in time with natures influence on your heartbeats.

The lakes and rivers are what make all the charm of the Jura Mountains. The largest one, at Chalain, is just covering more than 230 hectares. Simply…Unbelievable!!

The Lac de Vouglans and the natural lake at Saint-Point are the 3rd place largest damns in France … With 850 m of altitude, this last one offers you a nice scope of 6 Km. Smaller but more fun, the Lac de Vouglans is long for about 3 Km and is equipped of leisure activities among its boast beaches.

All Jura Mountains Lakes are secured and calm thanks to a ban on all motorised craft. Fall in love with the natural site of Lac des Rousses, the wildlife side of the Jura Mountains. You will find a pine forest and a wild natural habitat thanks to the very clear water. This is the forgotten part of the Mountains and the less touristic parts. You will totally escape from the connected world and discover a fragile ecosystem full of biological life.

Finish your trip by visiting another natural site, the Lac Genin, the latest jewel of the massif. Rivers, lakes, forest, …the reputation and the beauty of the Jura Mountains is indisputable.  So just a little advice from a French girl to you this summer… forget the hustle and bustle of London, take a deep breath and relax yourself with the natural beauty of France.

The Ivy Chelsea Garden hosts Annual Garden Party to celebrate the opening of The Summer Harden

Tuesday 9 May saw a host of The Ivy Chelsea Garden’s regulars, local residents, influencers and famous guests, including Jeremy Irvine, Lottie Moss, Miranda Richardson, Talulah Riley and Amber Le Bon, gather together to celebrate The Ivy Chelsea Garden’s annual garden party and the opening of the summer garden, two years after the restaurant’s opening in 2015.

Hosted in the restaurant’s beautiful and extensive gardens and orangery, guests were treated to The Ivy Collection’s exclusive Champagne, refreshing and bespoke ‘Chelsea Summer Blush’ cocktails and Rock Angel Rosé by Whispering Angel, as well as a selection of delicious canapés created by Executive Chef Sean Burbidge. For those with a sweeter tooth, an array of cooling ice cream was provided by Ice Cream Union, complete with its very own bicycle that was situated within the garden.

During the evening, guests enjoyed live music by acoustic band, Swing Petite Band, whilst exploring the restaurant’s recently-revealed summer garden, featuring climbing wisteria, a central water fountain feature, rose arches and a variety of colourful summer blossoms, officially marking the start of the summer season in Chelsea.

The Ivy Chelsea Garden remains a Chelsea stalwart for local residents and as a destination for those travelling from further afield, marrying approachable sophistication and familiar luxury with an underlying feeling of glamour and theatre.

As usual, people were spectating the hats just as much as the horses at the thankfully warm and sunny Royal Ascot event this year. Smart Experiences sought to introduce a different Ascot experience in the Royal Ascot Village, a small complex opposite the grand stand made up of dining rooms, marquees and a stylish bar which had an established sporting legacy as it was used at many of the 2012 London Olympics events. It was a relaxed atmosphere, with people lounging in the sun in between races and listening to a fun guitar, saxophone and singing trio who lightly tinkled out old and new favourites.

Screen Shot 2014-06-25 at 10.51.53 Lunch was served in a large dining room of the Village. The guests enjoyed a three course meal with a beef carpaccio starter, a wonderfully light poached salmon main and a dessert buffet with a host of summery, delicate deserts such as lemon posset and chocolate cherry cakes. Later on, after a few heavy bets and losses, spirits were lifted as afternoon tea was served, offering raspberry smoothies, miniature scones, cupcakes and good old-fashioned, English finger sandwiches. Being a guest in the Royal Ascot Village definitely affords you one of the best views in the arena. A small walkway brings you right to the edge of the track where you can feel the ground vibrate as the horses plummet by you. Behind this is the dramatic backdrop of the famous grandstand which teems with people. This of course means you have the best seat for the Royal procession, definitely upping your chances of getting a wave from Her Majesty.

Bets can be placed in the comfort of the Village or from the bookies just next to the track. First-timers were definitely feeling a bit uneasy about trying they’re hand at betting, but with renowned jockeys giving some great tips for every race at lunch, you’ll always know which horse to put your money on Getting the full experience of Ascot could not be better at the Royal Ascot Village. A great place to hold functions, or even if you would just like some amazing beverage and food along with your betting, this will definitely be the most strategic position of the day.

At a brief glance, it is easy to mistake The Phoenix, with its plain wood and brick exterior, as a run-of-the-mill pub that sits unostentatiously on Smith Street, a small walk from the Kings Road. But as one of the Geronimo Inns chain’s newest successes, it achieves the stylish yet modern country pub feel that the brand is known for. The bar area is instantly more colorful. It almost resembles your parents’ living room, with slouchy couches and rustic bookshelves which make you want to bring a blanket and have an afternoon read. The wooden floors and tables, mismatched chairs, higgledy-piggledy vases and chalkboard menu all add to this homely atmosphere. The vibe is different from the usual trendy Chelsea gastro pub in that it actually feels more like a local haunt with people coming in for the odd pint rather than large after-work regroups.

Yet in a separate section at the back of the venue, the restaurant, with its menu changing every week, makes it so that even the regulars refrain from ordering ‘the usual’. The food observes summer flavors that compliment the fresh and modern interior. It varies from light dishes such as chilled red pepper and tomato soup with Greek yoghurt or ham hock, goat’s cheese and broad bean salad to more substantial plates of steak frites or wild boar and apple sausages.

It is clear that the food is the usual British celebration, adhering to fresh produce and preparation. So far, it all recalls a feeling of coming home for a Sunday lunch, yet the drinks are surprisingly cosmopolitan. From Caipirinhas to Pisco Sours, the cocktail menu has a distinctly South American taste in honor of the World Cup as the drinks, like the menu, are constantly in revolution.

A cool environment for summer but surely just as welcoming in winter with the restaurant’s open fireplace roaring into life. Familiar yet exciting, The Phoenix offers the delights of home with a few foreign twists to give a relaxed but refreshing experience.
