There is something wonderfully simple about the idea behind NAKED WITHOUT. Founder Natasha Hunt wanted to create pyjamas that people would not just wear to bed, but genuinely live in.

The newly launched London sleepwear brand was born from a frustration many shoppers will recognise: beautifully made natural-fabric sleepwear often comes with a luxury price tag, while more affordable alternatives can compromise on quality, individuality or fit. Natasha wanted another option.

I've always loved pyjamas, but whenever I went looking for a new pair, I hit the same frustration. Beautifully made sleepwear in natural fabrics tends to cost a fortune.

Her answer was NAKED WITHOUT, a brand built around natural fabrics, distinctive prints, personalised fit and what Natasha describes as "affordable luxury". The name perhaps explains the philosophy best — the pair people instinctively reach for when they get home, pack whenever they travel and genuinely miss when they are in the wash.

Sleeves swallow my hands and trousers pool around my ankles. When something is supposed to be the cosiest piece you own, the fit really matters.

That frustration became one of the defining elements of NAKED WITHOUT. Customers can provide measurements and have their pyjamas tailored accordingly, with the service offered free for the brand's first drop. Natasha describes it simply as making the product fit the customer rather than expecting the customer to fit the product.

02Chapter

Beyond the Bedroom

There is another important idea running through NAKED WITHOUT: pyjamas should not necessarily stay at home. Natasha sees modern life as increasingly fluid — people work from kitchen tables, host friends at home, head out for coffee, run errands and move constantly between private and public spaces. Yet clothing has not always evolved at the same pace.

I've never understood why pyjamas should stay in the bedroom.

Her solution is sleepwear designed with enough personality and polish to move beyond it. Add sunglasses, a handbag or even heels, Natasha argues, and suddenly the pyjamas become an outfit.

The philosophy is not about abandoning dressing up — quite the opposite. It is this balance between comfort and presentation that sits at the heart of the brand.

Comfort changes how you carry yourself. When you feel good in what you're wearing, you're more relaxed and more yourself.

03Chapter

Noah's Ark & Gift of God

The first two NAKED WITHOUT collections are called Noah's Ark and Gift of God, names inspired by biblical stories Natasha says carry warmth, familiarity and heritage. Noah's Ark reimagines the story through a blue toile print, referencing antique porcelain and traditional French wallpaper while introducing a more playful world of animals.

Elegant from a distance, playful up close.

And with a smile, Natasha adds that the collection is "designed to last more than forty days and forty nights".

Gift of God takes a softer direction. Built around pink bows and angel imagery, the collection uses brushed cotton and a delicate gradient of tones. Natasha describes it as the more romantic side of the brand and says its velvety feel is intended to make the set feel like a gift at the end of the day. Together, the two collections establish the NAKED WITHOUT aesthetic: storytelling, colour, humour and comfort.

04Chapter

Affordable Luxury

Natasha is very deliberate about the phrase "affordable luxury". She does not want NAKED WITHOUT to become a brand whose identity depends on exclusivity.

So much of the luxury world can feel exclusive, and I wanted the opposite. Luxury that doesn't leave anyone out, but invites everyone in.

The technical side of the product has been equally important. The brand uses digital reactive printing on natural fabrics, with the aim of maintaining softness while achieving strong colour and print definition. Natasha says longevity is central to her idea of quality — it is not enough for a product to look good when it first arrives.

Quality isn't just about how something feels on the day you buy it. It's about how it feels after a hundred washes.

The brand is also producing in small runs. Natasha says she would rather make things carefully than make them quickly.

05Chapter

Building the Brand Herself

NAKED WITHOUT is self-funded, and Natasha has built the business from the ground up. That has forced her to make very deliberate choices, with her priorities remaining focused on fabric, fit, print quality and the customer experience. But one of the hardest parts was finding the right partners.

When you're self-funded, you can't do everything at once. You learn to prioritise very quickly.

There were samples, adjustments and plenty of patience before Natasha felt the finished product was ready. She admits there were moments when accepting "nearly there" would have been easier, but because these are products she wears herself, she did not want to compromise. The moment when the business finally felt real came when the website was finished — stepping back to look at it as a whole, she knew the vision had become something tangible.

06Chapter

A Family Affair

NAKED WITHOUT is also, in part, a family story. Natasha's father owns a factory where the pyjamas are produced, giving her access to manufacturing expertise and allowing her to remain closely involved throughout the process. For the first collections, she worked with designs from his studio, selecting and refining prints before bringing them into the NAKED WITHOUT world. She is now developing original designs for future collections — everything from the stories behind each set to the campaigns, packaging and language used across the brand.

07Chapter

Who Is the NAKED WITHOUT Woman?

Natasha does not define her customer by age or size. She could be a student, mother, grandmother or simply someone who enjoys looking put together without sacrificing comfort.

What connects her is an attitude.

She likes beautiful things but does not believe luxury should be inaccessible. She may spend a slow Sunday morning at home and then head out for coffee without feeling the need to change. She has a sense of humour, a sense of self and an appreciation for the ordinary moments in between. And because the pyjamas can be tailored, Natasha wants the clothing to adapt to the wearer rather than the other way around.

The ambition is already expanding beyond womenswear. Natasha plans eventually to introduce options for men and children, creating what she hopes could become a sleepwear brand for the entire household.

08Chapter

Made in London Spirit

London is central to the story. Natasha lives in Chelsea, studied in the city and describes it as fundamental to both her own identity and the personality of NAKED WITHOUT. She also sees the city's mix of heritage, humour, international influences and neighbourhood culture as naturally aligned with the brand.

It respects tradition, but it's never afraid to have a little fun with it.

That same spirit has shaped the brand's social media strategy. Instead of simply posting products, Natasha has created recurring characters and small narratives around everyday life. Characters such as Delilah and Naomi take their pyjamas for cake, coffee, a Sunday roast or even the weekly vegetable shop. The aim is to create a world people want to follow rather than simply another sales feed.

I'd love NAKED WITHOUT to feel less like a brand and more like a club.

09Chapter

What Comes Next

For now, Natasha remains focused firmly on sleepwear. She wants to perfect the fabrics, fit and service before expanding into anything else.

I'd much rather do one thing beautifully than lots of things half as well.

Over the next twelve months, she hopes to grow the brand's community, develop more partnerships and begin moving towards collections for men and children. Five years from now, her ambition is bigger: she wants NAKED WITHOUT to become the name people associate with beautiful, comfortable pyjamas for the whole family. One day, she would also like the brand to have a physical home of its own in London where customers can feel fabrics, be measured and experience NAKED WITHOUT in person. Yet even with those ambitions, Natasha is clear that the foundations should not change.

Quality you can feel, a fit made for you, a little bit of cheek, and luxury that welcomes everyone.

And perhaps that is the clearest definition of NAKED WITHOUT. Colourful. Natural. Comfortable.

"The pyjamas you feel naked without."
