Inside Pickles & Co: The Salon Putting Hospitality at the Heart of Haircare

5.76Kviews

In an industry often defined by glossy finishes and fleeting trends, Pickles & Co is carving out a refreshing new approach—one that blends style with soul, and haircare with heartfelt hospitality.

Nestled in the heart of the community, Pickles & Co isn’t just a salon—it’s an experience. From the moment clients step through the door, the focus is on more than just cuts and colour. “We don’t just provide quality services,” says Jade Powell, founder of Pickles & Co. “We focus on the client’s journey with us. Hospitality is at the heart of everything we do.”

This ethos has guided a series of thoughtful investments aimed at redefining the traditional salon visit. One of the latest innovations? A private hair room designed for clients seeking a more discreet, personalised service. “We understand that some guests want privacy—whether it’s for cultural, personal or professional reasons. The private room ensures they feel entirely comfortable,” Powell explains.

But the evolution doesn’t stop there. In the coming months, Pickles & Co will introduce a dedicated Japanese head spa treatment room. Drawing inspiration from Japan’s rich wellness traditions, the new offering will blend scalp massage techniques with aromatherapy and restorative treatments. “It’s all about enhancing wellness while still delivering our signature high-end services,” says Powell.

Innovation Meets Expertise

Pickles & Co’s team of stylists pride themselves on staying at the cutting edge of colour and care. As an official academy for NAK Hair—a vegan-friendly, sustainability-conscious brand—the salon is committed to eco-responsibility as much as creativity.

“Our talented team specialises in NAK hair colours,” says Powell. “It enables us to do unique colour work while keeping the hair healthy. We’ve also introduced ORI Lab, an organic range made without compromise, for luxurious, restorative treatments.”

Hair extensions are another growing area. The salon has partnered with Beauty Works, a leader in premium hair extensions, to ensure all training meets the highest standards. “It’s important that we don’t just offer services—we offer expertise,” she adds.

Making Every Client Feel Like a Priority

If there’s one thing that sets Pickles & Co apart, it’s the client-first approach that permeates everything from the greeting at reception to the final blow-dry. “Lots of salons can offer high-end services,” Powell admits, “but we want to offer hospitality too. We want every client to feel valued—as if they are our only priority while they’re with us.”

This focus on experience is intentional. “We offer value-for-money services in a warm and friendly environment. We don’t just want clients to feel happy with their hair—we want them to feel happy with us,” she says.

It’s this same sense of connection that fuels the salon’s desire for feedback. “The biggest challenge we face as a small business is the rising cost of operations. But we never stop listening to our clients. Their feedback drives our improvements,” Powell explains.

Looking Ahead

With a clear vision, Pickles & Co is already thinking about the next chapter. “We’re exploring opening a sister salon elsewhere,” she reveals, “but our core focus will always be on the customer’s journey with us.”

Powell is visibly proud of what they’ve built. “We are super excited about the future. Every step we’ve taken shows how committed we are to making this business a thriving success.”

For those who believe a salon visit should nourish both hair and heart, Pickles & Co might just be your new favourite destination.
