Michael Caine nominated for the 5th annual National FIilm Awards 2019

Legendary Actor, Michael Caine has been nominated for the prestigious 5th annual National Film Awards UK. The awards ceremony returns to home turf  in March after a successful launch of the US version National Film & Television Awards at the Globe Theatre in Los Angeles.

Sir Michael Caine has been nominated for the Global Contribution to Motion Picture prize at the National Films Awards UK.

The ‘King of Thieves’ star – who has also earned himself a spot on the Best Actor stortlist for his role in the crime movie – has been revealed amongst the likes of Julie Andrews and Michael Gambon in the prestigious category.

The National Film Academy announced the official nominations this week  after a successful launch of its US version last month at the Globe Theatre in Los Angeles. This year (2019) the National Film Awards UK celebrates it’s 5th anniversary with the awards show set to take place on the 27th of March 2019.
Over 1.9 million fans cast their vote across 25 categories to decide the nominations and viewers can now vote for the winners on the official Academy website at www.nationalfilmawards.org

Aquaman, Crazy Rich Asians, Tomb Raider, Den of Thieves, Avengers: Infinity War, Johnny English Strikes Again, Game Night, Black Panther, A Star is Born, and Creed make the shortlist for the Best International Film category.
The nominees for the Global Contribution to Motion Picture category include; Michael Caine, Jennifer Saunders, Julie Andrews, Piers Brosnan, Michael Gambon and Angela Lansbury.
Heineken has been announced as Official Beer sponsor whilst online fashion outlet, Fashion Nitty is presenting sponsor for the entire awards.
