What would you do to celebrate a significant milestone? This weekend is the 150th birthday of Bacardi, one of the world’s most iconic alcoholic drinks. It also happens to be the weekend of America’s biggest sporting events, as the New England Patriots take on the New York Giants in the 45th annual Superbowl, the end to the American Football season which was watched by 111 million people last year. The Superbowl has provided the perfect opportunity for Bacardi to celebrate with an impressive party featuring performances by the likes of Gym Class Heroes and LMFAO.
It’s not all parties though, as Bacardi has also launched one of the world most exclusive drinks to mark the Anniversary. The company which was founded in Santiago de Cuba in 1862 and has specialised in creating premium brand liquors has released the dry rum blend, Ron Bacardi, de Maestros de Ron, Vintage: MMXII. The exclusive drink is limited to a series of just 1,000 with each hand blown, individually numbered bottle, costing $2,000.
