A few months ago I got on a plane to the heart of the French Riviera to discover a new collection of residences in Antibes: Parc du Cap. To be honest, I was half sold when I kicked off the mission especially finding out that the inspiration behind the new residences was one of Britain’s leading luxury property developer,  businessman and entrepreneur John Caudwell. The wonderful Roxane Farley was the head lady in a classroom full of luxury property enthusiasts and after an amazing lunch courtesy of the Best Chefs in town, we were taken on a tour of the 88 apartments in the exclusive yachting community of Cap d’Antibes.

The tour of the new property reveals a more relaxed members club feel, thanks to the amazing facilities, extra space,  modern finish and outstanding round – the – clock concierge service.

Antibes is a resort town between Cannes and Nice on the French Riviera (Côte d’Azur). It’s known for its old town enclosed by 16th-century ramparts with the star-shaped Fort Carré. This overlooks luxury yachts moored at the Port Vauban marina. The forested Cap d’Antibes peninsula, dotted with grand villas, separates Antibes from Juan-les-Pins, a chic resort with a buzzing nightlife and the Jazz à Juan music festival.

We walked through the town, at one point stopping by a famous local artist who was determined to capture my essence.. Well, I obliged like a ‘model in waiting’ and posed like my life depended on it. To be fair, I believe the confidence was garnered from the fabulous French wine sampled earlier on during lunch. What better way to follow an Artist drawing than to embark on a full tour of  Picasso’s Museum. In 1608 it became a stronghold of the Grimaldi family and has borne their name ever since. In 1702 it became the town hall of Antibes. From 1925 the chateau was known as the Grimaldi Museum. In 1946 it was the home for six months of the artist Pablo Picasso. Today the museum is known as the Picasso Museum, the first museum in the world to be dedicated to the artist.Picasso himself donated works to the museum, most notably his paintings The Goat and La Joie de Vivre. In 1990 Jacqueline Picasso bequeathed many works by Picasso to the museum. These included 4 paintings, 10 drawings, 2 ceramics and 6 etchings. These are displayed at the Château in addition to the 3 works on paper, 60 etchings and 6 carpets by Pablo Picasso which the museum collected between 1952 and 2001. Today the collection totals 245 works by Picasso.

Parc du Cap is set within beautiful landscaped gardens surrounding an outdoor swimming pool. The real estate comprises of 8 one – bed apartments, 66 two -bed apartments, 4 three – bed apartments (already sold out) and 10 four – bedroom penthouses with private rooftop pools and spectacular terraces with panoramic views. Developed with Caudwell Collection’s world-class designers, extraordinary excellence and passion for creating inspiring living spaces, Parc du Cap redefines the standard of luxury holiday homes. All of the elegant apartments have private terraces, some with  sea and mountain views, while the interiors are of understated elegance – from the very best modern kitchens to marble tiled bathrooms. The development offers outstanding amenities including a spa on site with outdoor and indoor swimming pools, Jacuzzi, Hammam, ice room, private treatment rooms and fully equipped gymnasium – plus a  resident’s tennis court within the grounds.  One of the key benefits of owning a Parc du Cap property is the lock – up – and – leave aspect. Unlike a villa or regular apartment, Parc du Cap is privately gated and comes with 24 – hour security, secure underground car parking and concierge service – on hand 24/7 to assist with any request. By entering the fold and buying a Parc du Cap apartment or penthouse means rubbing shoulders with like-minded individuals, be they business owners, entrepreneurs or wealthy families .

Cap d’Antibes is a springboard for several of the finest Provençal towns and social events in the Cote d’Azur , including Monaco ( Grand Prix), Cannes ( Film Festival), Saint Tropez (beaches and boats), Nice (markets) and Cap Ferrat (celebrity glamour)  and later that night I found myself and some of the property designers partying at the Cannes Music Festival afterparty. As France is well – known for its cuisine and Michelin star restaurants, yachting scene, high-end shopping, stunning climate and travel ease from the UK, the reasons to join the Riviera club are endless. With a third of the apartments already in ownership or under offer, this incomparable development is a rare opportunity to invest in an exclusive real estate in the French Riviera.

For anyone looking for more spacious, homey apartments, Caudwell Collection’s second and newest clutch of residences – Les Oliviers – can be found a stone’s throw from Parc du Cap. This Art Deco influenced building has been carefully revitalised into six exclusive residences which offer uniquely generous living spaces, whilst paying homage to their elegant past (the site of Les Oliviers was once the attendants’ quarters of Le Provencal, the glamorous hotel between the 1920s and 1970s). There are four two- and three-bed apartments, a four-bed Duplex with a private pool, and a three-bed penthouse. Residents will be able to enjoy a series of beautifully manicured Provençal style gardens (with two apartments having their own private garden), a shared sundeck and heated outdoor swimming pool with marble render finish, and glorious apartment views from floor-to-ceiling windows. Les Oliviers apartments start from €2,175,000 for a two-bed/two-bathroom apartment and range up to €3,950,000 for a three-bed/three-bathroom penthouse.

Properties start from €587,500 for a one-bed apartment, €990,000 for a two-bed and €4,950,000 for a four-bed penthouse. For UK buyers, Caudwell Collection has the benefit of being a British luxury real estate company whilst managing an extensive local network of suppliers and advisors.
