When we were cordially invited for a relaxing weekend , I never knew our Editor’s magic wand would land us slap bang in the middle of somewhere in the New Forest of Hampshire but as we arrived at Careys Manor & SenSpa, we began to understand what our Editor meant by ‘authentic’ in design and delivery. This is simply because,  when you visit SenSpa you are transported to a place of pure relaxation and indulgence. The unique Thai spa, adorned with sumptuous Thai silks and infused with the fragrant scents of the Orient, guaranteed the perfect setting for an unforgettable weekend.

We enjoyed several dips in the sublimely warm pool and some excellent treatments in the spa including the use of Carey Manor’s excellent spa facilities including a hydrotherapy pool, herbal sauna, crystal steam room, experience showers, ice room, tepidarium, laconicum and relaxation areas. Later that evening, we tried out the Zen Garden restaurant for some authentic  Thai food. For starters we had  prawn salad mixed with lemon grass, red onion, mint and coriander coated with spicy dressing and for mains we decided to indulge in a hot Moo Grob Pad Grapraow Crispy pork with basil stir fried with chilli, garlic, onion and bail leaves. To say, the crispy pork was perfectly cooked with  a taste that combined a range of  mouth watering spices would be an understatement.  So, I’ll just describe it by one word ‘fantastic’. After a Thai message which included a special Kinsei Balancing  for 1 hour which left our skin feeling clean and revitalised. We departed Careys Manor & Spa high in spirit if not in weight and noticeably more relaxed. Next time, we’ll take a longer Sen Fusion massage, do more facials and eat a low calorie diet at least that’s the plan!
