Editors Letter for Chelsea Monthly’s 3rd anniversary issue!

Welcome to our 29th issue of Chelsea Monthly and our third anniversary! Yes, the luxury and lifestyle magazine which was launched merely a few years ago by the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea turns 3 this year. Apart from planning a perfect celebration to end all celebrations, we have also been busy interviewing, travelling and sampling some of the greatest restaurants, hotels, and destinations to give you a firsthand experience right from the horse’s mouth. Excuse the pun! We also send our Travel Editor to the fantastic island of Mauritius to fully experience what the Luxury Heritage Resorts has on offer and as soon as he stepped back into London. He was sent back on a mission yet again to Ibiza to uncover the luxury side to the famous island. Not content, with travel our food journos have also been carefully selecting some of the finest exclusive restaurants in London. From Nipa to Naga, the new Red House in Chelsea to Giglamesh we got it covered with pages and pages of what can only be described as food to live for! We figured there’ll be a need for a decent rest and why not rest like a king or queen. So we embarked on a search to discover some of London’s unusual luxury hotels all offering their version of eccentric, unique and luxury all rolled into one. Our events team has also been hard at work, successfully completing the planning, organising, and delivery of the 1st annual British Young Business Awards together with Business Secretary of State, MP Vince Cable. Over 15,000 entrepreneurs took part in the voting and a total of 450 attended the actual awards at the prestigious Mayfair Hotel. Busy, wasn’t the word last month. We also gave birth to a sister publication in the other side of London. Camden Monthly Newspaper was launched but shhhhhh… we are secretly in a friendly competition so good luck to the staff across the pond but this is Chelsea Monthly so we do thinks slightly differently here!

Back to this issue, we touch base with music superstar Jessie J and welcome back Kate Nash to the fold whilst more importantly concentrating all our efforts on celebrating the arrival of a new royal baby. Congratulations to Prince William and Kate Middleton. Gone are the days, were Prince William and I used to party at the good old Boujis in London. The young man is now growing up to be a ‘young man’ and quite rightly so as we dedicate our third anniversary front cover to the rise and rise of the humble Prince!

Sticking with the royals, in our Out & About section we catch up with Prince Harry at a special charity polo event in the US and celebrate the 270th anniversary of Moet & Chandon a much loved Champagne here in the office and I assume by millions out there in the big old world. Apart from planning our next big National Luxury & Lifestyle Awards in conjunction with the Z-Phone by Zuricom. It’s clear to see that we are consistently hard at work to bring you our readers the best and northing but the best! Until next time let’s raise a Moet & Chandon glass of champagne to our 3rd year in existence, the birth of a new royal, the nominees & winners of BYBA 2013 and obviously as we sip our champagne the final big cheers goes to the 270th anniversary of Moet & Chandon… Until next time. Enjoy!
