Mayfair’s Iconic restaurant continues to set trends for others to follow
Quaglino’s is a restaurant at 16 Bury Street, St James’s, London, founded by Giovanni Quaglino in 1929. The restaurant achieved huge popularity with the British establishment in the 1930s through to the 1950s. The iconic restaurant is synonymous with style and glamour, and offers European food and legendary cocktails. With their talented Executive Chef Nuno Goncalves firmly at the helm of a virbrant and exciting menu. We were delighted to review this venue and for starters , i ordered a baked heritage beetroot & whipped goats cheese salad, chicory,
roasted almond pesto whilst for the mains i opted for Herefordshire beef fillet 300g, green peppercorn and fries on the side. Overall, amazing food and great entertainment as the house band took onto the stage to deliver a retro performance of classic songs.
The Quaglino’s menu is sophisticated, with dishes such as Highland wild red deer with parsnip purée and braised red cabbage epitomising the restaurant’s penchant for the luxurious. More simple classics also feature papardelle with smoked tomatoes and aubergine.
The venue itself is prestigious with two bars: a central cocktail bar in the main dining room and a mezzanine bar overlooking the restaurant below. Both serve classic cocktails and boast a wine list of over 300 varieties.
